Nestled on a former Rubbish Dump, The Midden may not sound like the ideal place to stay at first glance, but over 44 years, this 6-acre site has blossomed, with thousands of mature trees dividing the land into four sprawling fields. One of these fields houses the designated Camping and Motorhome Campsite, offering a tranquil retreat for those seeking some coastal respite from the hustle and bustle of daily life.

Despite its proximity to the road, the Caravan and Motorhome Club Certified Site site exudes an aura of peace, especially during the quiet hours of the night. We were lucky enough to stay here when UB40 were playing at the nearby Holkham Hall, and whilst the wind was blowing in the right direction, we could hear every word being sung!
the site
The Midden prides itself on providing spacious pitches equipped with water taps and electricity, ensuring a comfortable stay for all guests. For us, one of the highlights of The Midden is its connection to the Wells to Walsingham Light Railway. Nestled within the site is a private station, offering easy access to the charming town of Walsingham. Don’t miss the opportunity to embark on a journey aboard the steam train, immersing yourself in the nostalgic allure of yesteryears.

For those who enjoy staying connected, TV and mobile reception at The Midden are excellent, ensuring you can stay in touch with the outside world if desired. Should you have any questions or need assistance during your stay, Alastair, a familiar face on-site, is always on hand to offer guidance and ensure your experience is nothing short of exceptional.

Before you depart, be sure to delve into the rich history of The Midden. A hidden gem awaits, tucked away in a clearly marked bin near the track leading into the site—a book detailing the fascinating journey of this beloved caravan site.
